We have printed and distributed our first Johnston High School Sports Program for the school year, having gained 91 advertisers from the Johnston area. The ad sales will generate over $15,000 income. After printing expenses, we’ll share the proceeds with the Johnston Schools Booster Club for their educational and sports program contributions.

At our club business meeting August 28, we voted to send $1,000 to the Lions Clubs International Foundation for emergency relief in the Houston area flooding. We’re fortunate to have the community support to afford this funding. Individuals can make tax deductible donations to LCIF at this site: Donate Now
We netted well over $5,000 from our Book Sale this year, an increase of more than $950 above last year’s proceeds. We’ll donate almost all of this to the Johnston Public Library! Thanks to some great volunteers from the Silver Cord high schoolers (some pictured here) and a crew from the Youth Homes of Mid-America!
