At their business meeting April 27, the Lions Club approved these new grants:
- Camp Courageous–$1,000
- Camp Hertko Hollow–$1,000
- Iowa KidSight Program–$1,000
- Johnston Community Library Foundation–$3,500 (proceeds from Book Sale project)
- Johnston Fire Association–$500
- Johnston Partnership for a Healthy Community–$1,000 ($500 earmarked for Farmers Market coupons)
- Johnston Schools Booster Club–$4,250 (proceeds from Sports Program Ads project)
- Leader Dog Puppy Program–$1,000
- Iowa Lions Foundation–$1,000
- Lions Clubs International Foundation–$1,000 (earmarked for Nepal Emergency Fund)
This brings the total thus far for this fiscal year, which ends June 30, to $19,771.25 in grants and assistance!
